Cherry Rock

Now I know that I've been a bit slack with writting blogs but I'm writing now so it's ok. =D

Anyway Cherry Rock was last Sunday and I have to say it was a new experience for me but a good one none the less. With amazing, weird (in a good way), full on acts it was quite the day/night out.

I'll talk about a few of the bands... Really the ones that caught my attention.

Six Foot Hick

These guys really caught my attention. Since I went to this gig without knowing any of the bands I was throwing myself into the deep end and I knew this. But when just before they came on my friend turns to me and says I hope the set themselves on fire again I knew I was in for something different to say the least. Now I'll add that no they did not set themselves on fire but they did do the following.... One of the singers crowd surfed and kissed the bassist of mammoth mammoth, kept throwing himself on the floor of the stage and throwing himself up again, then climbed up the bars of a window hung up-side down and thrashed around... Kinda surprised that he didn't end up with concussion at the end of the set.

Hell City Glamours

Pretty awesome I have to say... Spent most of the time covered in beer that was spat for the guitarist's mouth and having the lead singers plumbers crack in your face for most of the show they were pretty awesome.

Digger & The Pussycats

Now these guys were awesome. Two guys that have so much energy and talent they don't need anyone else in the band. They're songs are up beat and funny, not only that but they put on an awesome show that was very entertaining with drumsticks flying everywhere and the singer/guitarist throwing himself off the stage and playing in the crowd THEY WERE AWESOME!!!

The Datsuns

This is a band that should be bigger then what they are. With amazing energy these guys can put on a show. The one that really caught my eye was the lead guitarist/keys player who would swap instruments between songs and knew exactly what he was doing with each instrument. But he is a master of the guitar... His fingers were a blur as they moved seamlessly up and down the fret board. A real highlight of the day.

So I have to say the day was very fun and fore filling. Saw some amazing acts I'll be fans of for life.

'Till next time,

You all Rock!!!

Danit.
